Decisions

In everything we do in life there is a decision. Where to go to school, what profession to take up, what hobbies to do, what to eat for dinner and so on. Some decisions are very important. Deciding what profession to take up and where to work will have a big impact on your future life. Some decisions don't really seem to important. What does it really matter what I eat tonight. What does it matter what time I go to bed tonight. But every decision is important. Eating unhealthy could lead me down the road towards obesity and health problems. Not getting enough sleep could also cause health problems or cause me to be exhausted at work the next day and have a negative impact on my quality.

What I want to ask is this. Are you happy with your life? Are you proud of what you've accomplished and where you are? Are you content with how much money you have and how healthy (or unhealthy) you are? If not then what are you doing to change it? We can all change our lives. Make the decision to do something. If there is something you are unhappy about then make the decision to change. Put forth actions that will help change your health or your financial situation or your love life or actions that will help you achieve certain goals you want to accomplish.

Get started now and if you follow through I guarantee you will see results. Make sure that ten years down the road you aren't still living unhappy. Get the ball moving now so in ten years you will be right where you want to be and loving life.

Stay Positive

No matter what you are doing it helps to stay positive. If there is some task you don't enjoy you can make it better by staying positive.

Two examples from this weekend came from me and my wife. We had a lot of housework that needed caught up on since we've been so busy lately. We split it up and I was in charge of the outside yard work while she was going to work on the inside cleaning.

I had a ton of work to do such as raking up some leaves that have already fallen, mowing the yard and then trimming a bunch of overgrown bushes. On a hot 90 degree day I worked out in the yard for a little over 5 hours. This is something that would normally put me in a bad mood. However, I stayed focused on being positive. Looking on the bright side of things I realized I was getting quite a decent amount of excercise from all this work. Also I knew having everything cleaned and trimmed up helps put me at ease when I pull up to the house. Things look better and that makes me feel better.

My wife on the other hand didn't have a very positive attitude. She was struggling to get started because she was looking at the whole daunting job rather then looking at it as cleaning one room at a time. Once she did get started she was pretty much in a bad mood the entire time cleaning the house.

So what was the difference between me and my wife? A couple things that helped me stay positive.

1. Rather then looking at the whole job, break it down into smaller tasks. I was not overwhelmed by the job because I looked at each thing I had to complete in peices. Rake leaves. Mow the yard. Trim bushes. Clean up trimmings.

2. Try to look on the bright side. Sure yard work is not fun but I managed to look at the positive side of it. The extra excercise I got from the work will make me healthier and stronger. The visually leaf free yard will not make me stress every time I drive up to the house feeling overwhelmed with all I have to do.

Life is what you make it but by staying positive we can complete almost any task and we can complete it better, more efficient.

Just Start!

Just start! Whatever you aspire to accomplish the best way to get there is by just starting. The only thing that holds anyone back is our own inaction. The inaction to begin.

What goals do you have? Run a marathon, start a business, write a novel, lose weight. No matter what your goal is or how difficult it may seem to accomplish the best thing possible you can do is start. Go ahead and start running today. Start putting a business plan down on paper. Brainstorm for ideas on what to write about. Begin today eating a healthier dinner.

An object in motion tends to stay in motion but the most effort required is putting that object in motion in the first place. Stop dreaming and start doing.

I have many dreams, aspirations, goals. The only way any of these are going to come to fruition is by starting. I want to write an inspirational blog with many followers. Create a community where everyone can comment and help motivate each other. This article is the beginning of that community that I hope to have one day created. I've sat on my dream of creating such a community for a few months now with no real progress. No real concrete ideas of what to do. Finally I have realized the best thing to do is just start. Everything else will follow. I may not achieve success right off the bat with what I want to accomplish but I will begin my journey.

Just start!
